Wright Hawaii was selected by US Realty Partners (Los Angeles, CA.) to be the developer for the renovation and expansion of Lahaina Cannery, a grocery and drug anchored shopping center located in Lahaina, Maui. The Safeway grocery store was successfully expanded from 34,000 square feet to 65,000 square feet, making it the largest Safeway store in the state of Hawaii. Other redevelopment activities within the center included the construction of a 5,000 square foot ABC Store, a brand new Jersey Mikes sandwich shop, utilities and pad infrastructure for a brand new Safeway Fuel Station, and the redevelopment of the Mall Entries. Ongoing development as of mid-2021 includes the construction of a 5,000 square foot shell for a new Denny’s restaurant, a new food court within the air conditioned mall, and coming in 2022, 10,000 square feet of new free standing retail space including a Bank of Hawaii branch.
